Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening hypersensitivity reaction and is a severe form of allergic response commonly occurring after contact with triggering agents like insect bites, peanuts, soy, wheat, shellfish, certain medications, etc. Signs and symptoms include rash and swelling of the skin, low blood pressure, shortness of breath, loss of consciousness, swelling of eyes, face, and limbs, chest pain, wheezing, itching, etc. Adrenaline injections are used for immediate management.
