Angiokeratoma, a benign cutaneous lesion of capillaries, causes small dark spots on the skin. They occur anywhere on the body. These lesions occur when capillaries dilate or widen near the surface of the skin. The symptoms are telangiectasia, acanthosis, and hyperkeratosis on the skin. These spots are usually harmless, and they bleed a lot when it is scratched accidentally. There are several types of angiokeratoma, such as sporadic angiokeratoma, angiokeratoma of mibelli, angiokeratoma of Fordyce, angiokeratoma circumscriptum, and fabre disease. It is treated by excision, laser therapy, cryotherapy, or electrocautery.
