Angle-closure glaucoma refers to the increased pressure in the anterior chamber (front chamber) of the eyes caused by the blockage of fluid within the eyes. The intraocular pressure is elevated as the fluid cannot be drained out through canals properly. The most common symptoms include eye pain, intermittent headaches, loss of peripheral vision, and halos around lights. Immediate treatment is necessary to prevent vision loss.
