Anosmia refers to loss of sense of smell. Common causes of anosmia include cold, allergy, chemical exposure, and sinus infections. Doctors prescribe nasal decongestants to relieve nasal blockage that leads to anosmia. If anosmia is caused by some infections, then doctors prescribe antibiotics to treat it.
