Medical Conditions - Blepharospasm

Blepharospasm refers to the abnormal contraction of the eyelid muscles. The exact cause is unknown and is usually not associated with other diseases or syndromes. Risk factors include head trauma and a family history of tremors or dystonia. Eyelid twitches, eyelids spasms, and inability to open eyes are common symptoms. Botulin toxin injection is used as a first-line treatment for this condition.
