Botulinum toxin is a dangerous neurotoxin protein released by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. It blocks the release of acetylcholine in the nerve endings, and it causes paralysis of muscles. It disturbs nerve functions. This toxin causes a disease called botulism. Botulinum toxin is used to cure eye disorders, muscle spasms, and to reduce wrinkles. Botulinum toxin is also called miracle poison.
