Breast abscess refers to the build-up of pus in the breast generally caused by an infection. It is a painful condition. This condition is commonly seen among breastfeeding women. Breast abscesses can be a complication of breast infection called mastitis. Some of the symptoms of breast abscess are low milk production, redness and warmth in the breast region, and discharge from the nipples.
