Bulimia is a life-threatening eating disorder. It is a psychological eating disorder that involves binge eating foods in a single sitting followed by purging. Then they take steps to reduce weight gain. It can cause gum disease, osteoporosis, kidney disease, heart disease, and death. It affects mostly women. It is often caused due to childhood trauma, family difficulties, low self-esteem, and stressful events. Taking medications with cognitive behavioral therapy helps a lot.
