Medical Conditions - Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Chronic pain, which starts in the extremities following surgery, trauma, heart attack, and stroke, is called complex regional pain syndrome. It is manifested by throbbing pain, sensitivity to cold and touch, swelling, joint stiffness, muscle spasms, decreased movement, etc. It might result in muscle atrophy and contracture. Taking vitamin C after a fracture and mobilizing early after a stroke helps in preventing complex regional pain syndrome.
