Conductive hearing loss can occur when there is a blockage in the passage of sound waves in the ear canal or middle ear. It often occurs due to fluid in the middle ear, ear infection, eustachian tube dysfunction, hole in the eardrum, ear wax, and benign tumors. The symptoms are muffled hearing, inability to hear quiet sounds, ear pain, dizziness, and drainage of fluid from the ears. In most cases, it occurs in a temporary condition, and it is cured by taking appropriate medical treatment. In some cases, hearing aids or other types of hearing implants are used to treat the condition.
