The corneal transplant, also known as keratoplasty, is a surgical procedure that replaces the damaged or diseased cornea with corneal tissue from the donor. It is done to restore vision, reduce eye pain, and improve the appearance of the diseased or damaged cornea. It is indicated in the treatment of Fuchs' dystrophy, corneal swelling, and keratoconus. Risks of corneal transplant include eye infection, glaucoma, bleeding, and rejection of cornea tissue from the donor.
