Medical Conditions - Cox Maze Technique

The Cox maze technique is a surgical procedure to correct atrial fibrillation developed by James Cox. The surgery is done by making multiple incisions in both the upper chamber of the heart for forming scar tissue in a maze pattern. The procedure is done in patients with highly symptomatic atrial fibrillation in whom the ablation technique has not helped.
