It is a surgical procedure that is done to remove the urinary bladder. It is done when cancer spreads to the bladder or if there are irregularities in the urinary system present from birth. During the procedure, an incision is given in the abdomen, and the bladder from the surrounding tissues is removed. After removing the bladder, a urinary diversion is made for urination.
