Medical Conditions - Dental Abrasion

Dental abrasion is a mechanical wearing of the tooth surface caused by external forces. Abnormal brushing technique with excessive pressure, using a hard-bristled toothbrush and abrasive toothpaste, nail-biting habit, and biting hard objects are responsible for abrasion of teeth. Since physical forces cause it, we can prevent it by using a soft-bristled toothbrush, avoiding abrasive toothpaste, following a proper brushing technique, and overcoming oral habits.
