Diuretics, otherwise called water pills, are drugs that are used to increase the amount of urine expelled form the body. They are used to treat high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and reduce fluid buildup in the body. The three types of diuretics used are Thiazide, Loop, and Potassium-sparing diuretics.
