Medical Conditions - Diverticulosis

Diverticulosis is a condition where diverticula (small pouches) are formed on the walls of the digestive system. It is often caused due to a low fiber diet, high fat diet, and repeated straining during constipation. The symptoms are nausea, abdominal pain, and fever when the diverticula get inflamed. Mild diverticulosis is treated by taking antibiotics. Taking a high fiber diet, drinking plenty of fluid and regular exercise helps a lot. In severe cases, surgery is done.
