Medical Conditions - Dmard

Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs or DMARDs are used in rheumatoid arthritis patients to slow down the disease process and prevent the gradual destruction of joint tissues by blocking the inflammatory process. There are conventional, targeted, and biologic DMARDs. They suppress the immune system and pose a risk of acquiring infections. Methotrexate, Hydroxychloroquine, Azathioprine, Cyclosporine, etc., are some of the drugs of this group.
