Medical Conditions - Eagle Syndrome

Eagle syndrome is a condition characterized by elongation of the styloid process (a bony projection from the lower surface of the temporal bone) or calcification of the stylohyoid ligament. Symptoms of eagle syndrome include pain in the neck, pain in the middle part of the throat, radiating pain up to the ears, facial pain, etc. Eagle syndrome usually occurs after injury to the throat or tonsillectomy.
