Elevated FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) levels in women can indicate various conditions, such as menopause, premature ovarian failure, or ovarian tumors. High FSH levels in men indicate primary testicular failure or Klinefelter syndrome. FSH stimulats the production of eggs in women and sperm in men. However, high levels of FSH can indicate that the ovaries or testes are not functioning properly.
