Ependymoma is the tumor of the ependyma, a tissue present in the central nervous system. It usually begins in the brain or spinal cord. It is a rare tumor occurring in children and adults. In children, it occurs intracranial region, and in adults, it occurs in the spinal region. Rarely it occurs in the pelvic cavity. It is removed by surgery. The survival rate of a patient with this tumor is five years.
