Esophageal candidiasis is a yeast infection of the esophagus (windpipe) caused by Candida Albicans. Esophageal candidiasis is also known as esophageal thrush. Symptoms of esophageal candidiasis include; white patches on the lining of the esophagus, pain, and discomfort while swallowing, dryness of the mouth, nausea, unusual weight loss, etc. Treatment of esophageal candidiasis is done by anti-fungal drugs like Fluconazole.
