Medical Conditions - Esophageal Tear

Esophageal tear or rupture is a serious medical condition that requires immediate medical intervention. The major cause of esophageal perforation are regarded to be esophageal endoscopy and surgical procedures. Other causes include chronic vomiting or trying to vomit, ingestion of bones and acids, and persistent esophageal ulcers in immunocompromised. Esophageal hols present with pain and difficulty swallowing, fever, and rapid breathing and heart rate. Treatment includes surgical repair of the perforation or occlusion of the hole with a stent based on the severity.
