Eye testing should be done for children at a very early age of six months which consecutive check-ups should follow at the age of three and five or six years. Pupil response testing analyses the pupil for opening and closing with light. Fixate and follow looks for the fixing and following of an object with the movement of light. Preferential looking assesses the vision capabilities with the help of a blank and stripped card.
