Fat necrosis is a benign breast condition that develops after an injury to the area of fatty breast tissue. It can be caused due to an injury or after surgery or radiation treatment. Symptoms include a round, firm lump, tenderness, dimpling of the area, or bruising. It usually goes away independently but may require needle aspiration or surgery.
