Fecal incontinence is the failure to control bowel motions, resulting in stool leaking out of the rectum in an unexpected manner. Fecal incontinence, also known as bowel incontinence, can range from a minor leakage of feces while passing gas to a total lack of bowel control which is characterized by frequent leaking of stool. The common cause of fecal incontinence include; damage to the rectum muscles, nerve damage, constipation, hemorrhoids, diarrhea, rectal prolapse, etc.
