Gallstones refer to the hard deposits of the digestive fluid that forms in the gallbladder. The size of the gallstones ranges from small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball. Only if people experience symptoms from gallstones may they require gallbladder removal surgery. Usually, gallstones do not cause any symptoms.
