Genu valgum is a type of bone malformation involving the knees. It is mostly seen in children of a young age. In an affected child, the knees appear to be closely placed with the ankle-part wide apart while standing. It is also called a 'knock knee'. One may see that the child's knees are bowing out while walking at an early age.
