Granulomatous mastitis is a rare benign episodic breast disease mainly affecting women of childbearing age with a history of breastfeeding. The condition's exact cause is not known; however, inflammation as the result of a reaction to trauma, metabolic or hormonal processes, autoimmunity, and infection with Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii may lead to this condition. People with granulomatous mastitis may have pain, mass, hyperemia, and inflammation. Anti-inflammatory medications can calm down the body's overactive inflammation.
