A child's growth and development undergo a set of cyclic changes from birth to adulthood. The first phase of growth is intrauterine life where fetal growth and development happen. Followed by the infant stage and late childhood and then adolescence. From adolescence, the individual steps into adulthood. All these stages have different steps of milestones and growth targets to attain the proper developmental pattern.
