The heart has four valves that help in the circulation of blood in the heart. In heart valve disease, one or more of the valves gets damaged, resulting in a disturbance in the heart's functions. Chest pain, fainting, swollen ankles, difficulty in breathing, and weakness are some symptoms observed in heart valve malfunctioning. It can occur due to stenosis and valvular insufficiency. Medications or surgery (heart valve is repaired or replaced) helps to repair the condition.
