Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most prevalent liver cancer occurring in people suffering from chronic liver diseases like liver cirrhosis from hepatitis B and hepatitis C infections, alcoholism, excessive smoking, obesity, type 2 diabetes, etc. Common symptoms of the condition are unusual weight loss, jaundice, and pain in the abdominal region. Treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma includes chemotherapy, surgery, or liver transplant.
