Hypochondriasis is a condition when someone has a fear of becoming seriously ill. It is otherwise known as an illness anxiety disorder. This condition does not show up any physical symptoms, but the person may think that normal body sensations or minor symptoms to be a sign of a serious illness. Hypochondriasis is a long-term condition, and the severity can fluctuate.
