Medical Conditions - Hypoparathyroidism

Low levels of parathyroid hormone (PTH) are the result of underactivity of the parathyroid glands, which causes hypoparathyroidism, an uncommon medical disorder. PTH is essential for controlling the body's calcium and phosphorus levels. Due to insufficient calcium levels, hypoparathyroidism can cause symptoms like tingling in the muscles, cramping, and convulsions.
