Medical Conditions - Inhaled Insulin

Inhaled Insulins use the powdered form of Insulin to be inhaled through the mouth. These are rapidly acting and used before a meal. In type 1 diabetic patients, it should not be used to substitute long-acting Insulins and must be taken along with it. Also, inhaled Insulin is not used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis and is contraindicated in smokers or those who have recently quit smoking, and those with chronic lung diseases.
