Intravenous iron delivery in conditions like iron deficiency anemia due to immediate requirement of iron supplementation, defective iron absorption by the body, blood loss, or problems with oral iron intake is known as iron fusion. Iron infusion therapy usually takes three to four hours, and iron is diluted in a saline solution for infusion. Side effects include altered taste, nausea, vomiting, headache, shortness of breath, muscle pain, rashes, etc.
