Keratitis refers to the painful inflammation of the cornea of the eye. People who wear contact lens are more likely to develop this condition. It is a chronic inflammatory condition. When keratitis is left unnoticed, the condition can progress and eventually get worse. Some of the symptoms of keratitis include red eyes, pain, and irritation in the eye, and excessive tearing.
