Keratoconus refers to the alterations in the shape of the corneal layer. Normally, the cornea is a thin, dome-shaped layer covering the eyes' front surface, which gradually thins and bulges outwards into a cone shape. It usually involves both the eyes but often affects one eye more than the other. These changes in the corneal layer affect the vision and cause several problems such as blurred vision, sensitivity to light, and other eye problems. The vision problems are corrected using glasses or contact lenses in the early stages.
Corneal Cross - Linking for Keratoconus
Corneal cross-linking (CXL) is a new, non-invasive procedure for keratoconus management that prevents the condition from worsening.
