A knee sprain occurs when the ligaments in the knee undergo stretching or tearing, typically due to sudden twists or impacts. Manifestations include pain, swelling, and impediments in knee mobility. The severity is classified into mild (Grade I) to severe (Grade III). Physical therapy is indicated for mild injuries, and surgery is done for profound injuries.
