Laryngeal cancer is characterized by the formation of malignant (cancer) cells in the laryngeal tissues. Alcohol and tobacco use are important risk factors associated with the development of laryngeal cancer. The symptoms associated with the condition are sore throat, hoarseness of voice, pain while swallowing, ear pain, and feeling of a lump in the throat region.
