The outermost layer of the eye is known as the corneal layer. The cornea is made up of three layers, including the epithelium layer, Bowman's layer, stroma, Descemet's layer, and endothelium. Damage to the corneal layer can interfere with normal vision by distorting or blocking the light as it enters the eye.
