Leflunomide belongs to the class of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). It works by decreasing inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis. It is used alone or with other medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Leflunomide may cause side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, dizziness, weight loss, back pain, muscle pain or weakness, pain, burning, and numbness.
