Medical Conditions - Lichen Planus Pigmentosus

Lichen planus pigmentosus is a form of lichen planus exhibiting patchy skin lesions and grayish-brown macules on the sun-exposed areas like the forehead and neck. These lesions may or may not cause itching and burning sensation. It most commonly affects people of Middle East, Indian, and Latin American descent. Viral infections, ultraviolet radiation, or altered immune response to certain oils and hair dyes are attributed to its etiology.
