Medical Conditions - Meniscal Tear

Meniscal tear is a common knee injury. When the knee is twisted forcefully or suddenly rotated, and the full weight is applied to it meniscal tear occurs. There may be pain, stiffness, swelling, and the knee cannot be extended completely. Treatment includes rest, applying a cold pack, pain medications, and physical therapy. Surgery is recommended only when all the rehabilitation therapies fail, and the knee still remains painful.
