Medical Conditions - Myelodysplastic Syndrome

The myelodysplastic syndrome refers to a group of disorders in which the blood cells in the bone marrow remain immature and do not convert into healthy blood cells. The cause of some diseases is unknown, but for others, it may be due to a response to cancer therapy. Symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, paleness, and easy bruising. Treatment involves managing the symptoms with medication and blood transfusions.
