Medical Conditions - Myofascial Trigger Points

Myofascial trigger points are trigger points in the skeletal muscle that, when provoked, act as a source of pain that radiates from these points over a wider area of the muscle or the regions supplied by the nerve. These trigger points are described as palpable nodules in the muscle fiber that elicit a twitch response when stimulated. Dry needling, myotherapy, steroid injections, botulinum toxin injections, etc., are certain treatment modalities.
