Near vision, or nearsightedness, is when a person can see objects that are near and is not able to see the objects that are far clearly (appears increasingly blurred with distance). This is known as myopia and occurs due to a refractive defect in the eye lens, causing the image to form abnormally in front of the retina. Wearing eyeglasses with corrective lenses helps to sharpen vision.
