A bump or swelling in the neck is referred to as a neck lump. The most commonly occurring neck lumps are lymph node enlargements. They can also be caused by bacterial or viral infections, dental infections, and swollen salivary glands. Sore throat, hoarse voice, and difficulty swallowing are common symptoms. Treatment depends on the underlying condition.
