Medical Conditions - Nephrocalcinosis

Nephrocalcinosis occurs due to the deposition of calcium oxalate and calcium phosphate in the kidney tubules and parenchyma. It may cause acute or chronic kidney injury and may be detected radiographically with normal kidney function. Generalized calcium deposition in the kidney is the characteristic of nephrocalcinosis, but this condition does not include the localized calcium deposition with focal kidney injury.
