Nissen fundoplication is a surgery used in the treatment of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Hiatal Hernia. In this procedure, the doctor creates a small sphincter to prevent acid reflux at the bottom of the esophagus tract. Possible side effects of the procedure include difficulty in swallowing and slow eating, but the positive point is that the acid reflux becomes significantly low after the surgery.
