Medical Conditions - Osteoid Osteoma

Osteoid osteoma is a type of noncancerous bone tumor that does not spread to other parts of the body. The center of an osteoid osteoma consists of a nidus which has growing tumor cells, blood vessels, and bone-forming cells. The exact cause of the condition is unknown. However, it usually starts from inflammation in the bone, and the bone-forming cells start to multiply rapidly after that.
